Comet (VOX) nice-to-haves

June 01, 2006

Here’s a random list of things I would like to see (or rather, implement :)) on Vox:

  • Auto-tag moblog post “moblog” (or anything configurable)
  • Ability to add privacy to moblog posts- Location metadata of assets (and GMaps mashup!)- hReview microformats in book/audio/video review posts- hCard and FOAF metadata of your profile and friends
  • Media RSS feeds- transcode video for iPod video or PSP ala Google Video- QR barcode of moblog addresses for Japanese users
  • T9 friendly moblog addresses for American users :)- explore people based on Asset IDs (“who also wrote a review of this CD?”)- Auto-rotate photos based on EXIF metadata- iTunes recent playlist using iTunes plugin, or last.fm feeds- rate, fave and tag your friends  assets
  • bookmarklets/GM scripts to post to Comet from outside Comet (“Post this photo to Comet” on Flickr)- Flash-based slideshow of photos collection
  • OpenID commenting- OpenID provider- Ability to tag your friend, and use tag for privacy level (“Visible to friends tagged “sixapart””)- Conduit API so that third parties can create Conduit that users can import (ala Google Homepage widgets). We could make use of OpenSearch 1.1 and Media RSS feeds for media data normalization.

Note that I know some of them are already planned for feature releases, but this list comes out of my mind, just as a personal opinion as a geek user.
