Murakami on the sky

Norwegian Wood (Vintage International Original)Norwegian Wood (Vintage International Original)The flight ORD - BOS was great. Somehow my seat was upgraded to Economy Plus, or looks like the most seats in the cabin were Economy Plus styles. Anyway, a little more spaces.

On the flight I read the last half of Murakami’s norwegian wood and got so impressed. This is a very beautiful, sad and yet emotional story. I couldn’t stop falling into tears in the last few chapters.

It’d be interesting to re-read them in English. I’m just curious how they translate the phrase “やれやれ” of the guy in most of Murakami’s works. He always says “やれやれ” whenever he feels sick or tired of the conversations with girls, or any other things in the world. Maybe … “WTF”, “Boo-Hoo” or “Good grief”?
