Hooked up Comcast Internet

January 30, 2007

Test1 Teste2 Test-japan Test-usen And tested with a couple of speed test sites, and with the location free TV box in my home.

Looks like it does 3Mbps against servers in California, which is good. Test against the “speed test” site of USEN (my ISP in Japan) gives me 2Mbps result, but when I actually connect with the TV box, it just gives me 500kbps, weird. I want 1Mbps at least to see the gapless video out of this!

UPDATE: when I set the rate of LFTV client to 6 (the maximum), it gives me 1.5 to 2Mbps continuously, which is good. It still gaps and maybe setting it to 5 might be the optimized rate (800-900kbps) for me.
