Good motivator for daily blog posting - Calendar layout
CalendarYesterday I got a comment and succeeding PM about the TypePad bug from my friend natsuemon who lives in NYC studying design. She was a co-worker when I was in Livedoor and she uses both TypePad and Vox, so faithful Six Apart customer :)
The TypePad bug is that the MMT (Mixed Media Template!) calendar layout is now broken and on the main index page it displays the oldest entry instead of the newest. (For 6Aer, it’s a bug id 46568). This will be fixed with the new release planned today or tomorrow, but the interesting bit for me is that she realized how the calendar MMT layout has been motivating her to keep blogging every day.
With the calendar layout, the first photo that appears within the post will be thumbnailed and displayed in the calendar, like this. For completist type of people like me, or like her, this is the great motivation to blog every day and fill the calendar with every day photos. She switched to the other layout for now (because of the bug) but she realizes that she doesn’t blog that frequently with the new layout and is starving for the calendar.
I thought this is an interesting stuff to share. Please give her back the un-broken calendar soon, Typepad folks :)
