ITVN?

March 09, 2007

I’ve been always looking for the way to watch football games in San Francisco, and yesterday I found the other alternative: Satanta Sports on ITVN.

Looks like ITVN is an IP-TV, the TV channel streaming and On-demand over the broadcast internet and you use STB to display the content to the TV screen. My del.icio.us links taggerd “itvn” have a couple of links, but it’s basically: $14.98/mo for UEFA Champions League, England Premier League, EURO 2008 etc. Apparently the highest bitrate is 700kbps and I guess the picture quality would probably just an usual SD or less.

It’s not HD but most cable/satellite sports channels are not HD anyway, except ESPN, so it won’t matter that much. $15 per month is reasonably cheap, at least compared with DirecTV, Dish or Comcast which would cost $60 or more to watch Sports and other HD channels.

They do 30 days free trial and I’ll check once I get the TV here.
