Guns and Police in Japan
Police and SAT shot and killed by an ex-yakuza (Japanese mafia), but they still didn’t even shoot the criminal. Maybe because the police was afraid of being criticized by the (way stupid) mass media and journalism by killing citizens, Japanese police/SAT is not allowed to shoot the criminal before they actually shoot. And this time they didn’t shoot back even though multiple policemen and SAT members were shot (and dead afterwards).
How ridiculous.
It’d be really easy for a very small number of terrorists to invade the whole Japan if they have enough skills to handle guns. There was a novel like that by Ryu Murakami, where terrorists from North Korea invaded Kyushu (South Japan) and declared the individual country: “半島を出よ”.
The book was really entertaining but the story like this could really happen, based on this stupid hostage thing situation and how police/SAT behaved. Sigh.
