July 21st (Or a perfect day in SOMA)

July 21, 2007

  • Has been up almost all night excpet 2 hours nap in 11pm to 1am, waiting for the Asian Cup Quarter final Japan - Australia- While waiting for the game, I did some hacks to aggregate my friends ustream.tv embed videos (including myself). It’s very convenient and evolutionary way to communicate to each other!- The game was sort of frustrating and exciting at the same time. We won the game at last with the Penalty Kicks. Kawaguchi (the goal keeper) is the god.- Woke up 1pm and noticed that the outside it’s a really nice weather. Got to the Gabby Cafe in front of the apartment and ordered a smoke Turky sandwich.- Walked for a few minutes to the Embarcadero sidewalk and the park. - Was reading the book “遠い太鼓” by Haruki Murakami. It’s an essay written during 1987-90 when he was writing Dance Dance Dance and Norwegian Wood. I’ve been reading 3/4 of the book so far and it’s been a fun reading.- Went down to the South Beach Cafe and had a bottle of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. They are known to display the soccer games on their TV screen and they happened to display Chelsea - LA Galaxy where David Beckham is supposed to make a debut in the United States. He was in the bench but will make it in the 2nd half.- In the half time i got out of the cafe and stopped by the House of Hunan to pick up some food to go. There was a man who was talking to the staff saying they’re moving to Taipei in 3 weeks, and he claimed it’s actually Shin-Chu, where my friend gugod lives and I’ve been to 3 times. So I had a brief chat about the city for a few minutes, which was fun.- Came back and I continue watching Chelsea v. LA on Fox. Becks is going to make a debut in a few minutes.- Will watch F-1 European GP qualifying afterwards.
