Plagger competitive services
Planet and newspipe are examples of the Plagger competitive “software”. What about services? Well, there’re a couple of competitive web 2.0 sites that do things pretty close to what Plagger does.

It turns me out that ANA mileage system sucks. When you fly United, or other Star Alliance airlines using PEX, the discounted economy ticket, you’ll only get 50-70% of actual miles. That’s why I only get 8500 miles or so with a roundtrip flight to San Francisco, which should be over 10k miles.
Hmm, I lost my cellphone either. I’m pretty sure I used it in the shuttle bus from NRT to Roppongi, that makes me believe I left it over in the bus. No cellphone can’t even make it sure. Bummer.
Oops, look like I left over my blue jeans somewhere, probably in Doubletree (Portland) or the Argent Hotel (San Francisco). It’s okay that blue jeans was GAP’s cheap one and nothing should be in the pockets. I guess I can get it back by calling the lost & found, but it’d be more expensive to send it back over the pacific than simply buying a new one.
So I’m here in OSCON. We had our Six Apart party “FooBar @ OSCON” last night and it went really well. I enjoyed really nice conversations with great people like Casey, Alex, Perrin, Geoffrey, Schwern and Jesse. I guess I got drunk more than I should be and now have a small hangover now (it’s 7:30 am).
So my first talk in OSCON is over. Check out the slides on Plagger website if you missed it. Basically I got mostly positive feedbacks “Hey that’s cool!”. I’m pretty happy. And now Junior (Mark Smith) from Six Apart wrote a really nice writeup about the session. Thanks Junior!
I’m here in San Francisco, Six Apart office now. This evening I’ll fly from OAK to PDX for OSCON 2006 and I’m really excited about it.
I arrived San Francisco safe and checked in the hotel (Argent Hotel, 3rd and Mission). The room looks spacious and good, but $14.95/day for an internet access is a bummer.
Very good sushi, so badly served.

Love ActuallyLast night I went to the preview show of “Pirates of Caribbean - Dead Man’s Chest” in Roppongi Hills. The movie was fun but all I remember is Keira Knightley’s jaw!
Riot on the GrillEllegardenEllegarden has been on my antenna for a while, whenever I listen to their song on cable TV stations like MTV Japan. They’re a Japanese alternative rock band (kind of emo + punk) and does really great tunes. I just downloaded their (probably first) major album “Riot on the Grill” from iTMS Japan and it surely rocks.
